Monday 07, December 2009 – Scruffy TV formed part of a World Wide live streaming of artists, choirs and individuals singing John Lennon’s “All you need is Love”. Scruffy TV was chosen by Starbucks and other International Officials to provide St. Lucia’s live stream simultaneously with a number of other participating countries worldwide. This event dubbed the RED Project was in an effort to raise funds for HIV/Aids victims.

(RED)™ is a simple idea that transforms our collective power as shoppers into a financial force that helps those affected by HIV in Africa. To date, $140 million has been generated and 4 million people have been helped through Global Fund programs that (RED) supports. When you choose to buy products from (RED) partner companies up to 50% of the profit goes towards eliminating AIDS in Africa.

This was a worldwide event with performers from every country in the world taking part. The event was hosted by Bono from U2. Each country had to film the event, record locally and simultaneously stream the performance live via a computer and broadband connection.

The event also made the Guinness Book of World Records for the most nations in an online sing-along. St. Lucia’s artist was Qshan Deya..with the broadband line provided by LIME on location at the Castries Cathedral.
