Radio St. Lucia is gearing up for a big month-end event. Its popular reggae show Reggae Vybes will be live at the Derek Walcott Square on Friday August 28th 2009.
The Friday night reggae show is heard from 7-12 midnight and for the past year has been creating a positive impact on St. Lucia’s reggae lovers. Reggae Vybes Live! will feature live performances from St. Lucian reggae artistes Mesach, Kulcha Rebel and others, with conscious reggae soldier Q Shan Deyà headlining.
The show will be hosted by Marlon Clovis and Brian “Ras Ipic” Mc Donald accompanied by the One Drop sound system, well known for the biggest selection of reggae tracks and dub plates in St Lucia.
Eats and drinks will be on sale with the musical action set to start from 6.00 p.m. with the show going live from 7.00 p.m.
Brian “ Ras Ipic” Mc Donald says, “The event is being staged as a means of saying thanks to the many listeners who have followed the programme loyally since it started in August 2008 and to support St. Lucian reggae artistes who need to promote themselves and their music. The event also fulfills RSL’s mandate to inform, educate and entertain.”
Reggae Vybes Live! will feature in several communities island wide during the coming year. Soufriere has been earmarked as the next venue for the event.
